Last week was rest week for me!! = I didn't do any work or studying haha = I have backlog again to catch up. Itz such a vicious cycle. Last week was acty a gd chance for me to watch webcasts, start on GEM2009 essay (which i have no idea how to start and am accumulating another essay this week), dye and cut my hair (which is super messy and faded-looking so it looks like hay now), mani and pedi which i haven't done in ages and book my waxing. Yes, last week was indeed the perfect opportunity to do all that... too bad I was feeling so sick from my coughing and flu that all I could muster was to sleep all day trying to sleep my illness away. Bleahz. I actually finished one whole bottle of woods peppermint cough syrup WITHOUT RECOVERING. ok lah, but I did get better heee...
Overall if was a relatively gd weekend... went to 15 minutes with havocers where we presented charl with her present part 2, the handmade part, and i am so proud that boon and I who are artistic noobs acty did pretty decent work k!! Although Jiale the expert was clucking away at us in snobbishness haha! Haven seen charl wear the thomas sabo bracelet that we got for her tho.. boo!! Haha yes both boon and charl's bdays have left me kinda broke but I'm so happy that finally all havocers are officially 21! We all met each other first day of sec 1, (we were freaking 13 years old?!) and have gone all the way till now, down this major bend, friendship forged even stronger. Kudos to us and thanks to heavens for such a blessing :)Now that all of us have crossed that invisible line already, may the upcoming road be blooming with happiness and may we stay strong and united through future chapters like work, marriage, motherhood etc etc!
Went to watch Funny People with darling yesterday, Adam Sandler doesn't disappoint again. I tink this might be the first movie in which I wasn't offended by all the 'F' words. Yes, there were numerous ranchy bits, but among the jokes and comedy there existed the heart, the spirit which carried the film through. I liked that George Simmons did not end up with Laura, I liked that the story was not fairytale-like. In darling's words, 'It goes like how real life goes - not perfect'.
After the movie, which was abt 3 hrs long, we took a bus down to orchard. Had intended to shop a little but the movie was as long as harry potter!! Zomg. Went straight to bakerzin at paragon to book our blueblerry cheesecakes first, then decided to just stay in the building and eat. After walking ard, we decided to go try out this new restaurant called Akashi, which looked pretty gd. In my opinion, the gd was really quite gd and the lousy was, well, average. My soba was supposed to be specialty of the house cos' itz healthy and handmande but in the end I preferred dear dear's udon. The fried chicken and tempura were gd, but the sashimi was average. Didn't see my fav chu-hai and didn't get the buckweat barley thingy cos' of my cough, but it was pretty tempting!
Went to prada and realised that my napa leather wallet is sold out in ivory which is kinda shitty cos' the brown and black are okey but I was reallly lemming for it in ivory. Charl says therez most prob still stock in europe so I shld not give up hope and save save save! Yess!! I almost juz charged my card for it last week but luckily I controlled! Although I would have gotten it in ivory had I charged last week, i'm still very proud of my self control :) Must save at least three times of it first then I can buy. Jiale and Hongyao are going Europe end of the year, thinking of asking one of them or bong to help me get from europe. heeeeheeeeee!!! Went to aldo at wisma too but they dun have the grey bag that I'm eyeing, seems like their stock comes in slower than the bugis branch which is so weird but I'll just hafta go back to bugis which is kinda sucky cos' I'm trapped for time!
Had a heart to heart talk with joce last night, really like a cleansing ritual. Joce is really one of the best persons that I know, and I am so glad that I not only had the privilege of meeting her, but actually had the honour of being one of her loved ones. Everytime I talk to her, I feel so much calmer and there is this inner peace within. Thank you for hearing me and confiding in me, trusting me enough to open up and share your pain. You are really the sister that i never had, and the sister I will always want to somehow live up to :)
On a lighter note, we have decided to go to hk next summer tgr! Since shez so familiar with it (she goes there every freaking year to shop!) she can bring me to all the nice places and the best sales! So for my grad trip(s), more or less cfmed le. Taiwan with darling (and friends?) and HK with joce :):) Had to turn down charl's offer to go U.S. tgr cos' of budget but heehee charl can go there for her second honeymoon with shawn and help me get coach and kate spade *hearts* Grace and June also asked me to go U.S. with them, is U.S. the hot-spot-for-grad-trip or sth?!?! Haven turned them down but i know I definitely wun be going with them, cos' zomg the way they spend I wun even be able to afford food. Plus if I wanted I would rather go with charl and meet up with them for meals or sth with them there... Haziz okey okey U.S. is tempting for me too... I shld juz raise my tuition fees, then maybe I cld afford U.S... hmmz.... thing is I dunno how to bring up the topic.. but then I do feel like I'm super underpaid cos' when I quoted this rate I didn't know that I was going to be teaching a foreigner instead of a singaporean who has had moe education alr... oh wells I'll see how, I dun wanna lose this gig cos' itz gd and pays on time and L doesn't really give me much trouble... definitely not as much angst as DC or attitude like LU...
